Why did you move to France?

It’s a question I’m asked a lot, and it boils down to a big life crisis which coincided with my Saturn Returns*. I arrived in September 2021 with very few plans equipped with a bike, tent, a battered old car and a taste for adventure. Crucially, unlike Darren Starr’s Parisian expat (Emily in Paris), I speak French. And LOOK MUM, I’m a writer now.

How can I work with you?

That’s the question I want you to ask. Drop me a message! I’ve written for some of the biggest travel publications out there, including the BBC, The Independent and Lonely Planet. Be it SEO savvy content writing, outdoor gear testing or running around the rooftops of Paris with a parkour group to get a good story, I’m your girl.

Another travel writer. What’s different?

I believe that you don’t have to hop on and off flights the whole time to be a travel writer, and that we have a responsibility to encourage slow tourism. If there’s a suitable alternative to flying I’ll take it, so you’ll often find me writing about carpooling, hitchhiking and epic rail adventures. My writing is France-heavy. I love this country and I don’t feel that visiting Antarctica one week and India the next is a responsible way to travel. I still fly, but sparingly.

*This is when Saturn returns to the same place as it was when you were born. It happens roughly every 29 years and it’s a way of my justifying my big life upheaval.
